WEEK 5:

3D SCANNING AND PRINTING

This week is about 3D printing and scanning..

Group assignment, 3D printing
Test the design rules for your 3D printer(s)

Individual work - 3D printing
The individual task for this week is to design and 3D print an object (small, few cm 3 , limited by printer time) that could not be made subtractively
3D scan an object (and optionally print it)
This week I continue to have problems because our institution still does not have the 3D printers and scanners installed, but I have made an object in Solidworks and I have documented the steps as I have done it so that it can be printed in 3D later.
For this task, make an object to squeeze in Solidworks.

First I have made the lines of the shape of the object.

Once you have finished all the outline of the shape, place it in isometric mode.

Then make the part that is going to be used for squeezing using the Solidworks design tools

Then use the circular array tool for the shape.

To make the perforations, draw a shape and replicate it around the contour with the circular matrix command.

Then make the union of all the shapes to make it a single piece and be able to give it the 1 mm thickness that the object has.

I share a video of the finished object.
